Congratulations again to Shelley who won "Country Threads Goes to Charm School" by Mary Ehterington and Connie Tesene this past Saturday.
Again this final week, I will be giving away a book which has been donated by Martingale & Company. Without their support, I wouldn't be able to offer these wonderful books to my readers.
If you didn't participate in the previous week's draw, here are the details for this final giveaway:
One book will be given away this final week; entries will open on Monday. Entries will close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday. I will be drawing this final winner on Saturday, December 18, 2010. To enter this week's giveaway, you will need to:
1. Become a follower on my Chatterbox Quilts Chitchat blog - and advise me by leaving a comment on this post. Please sign up for posts by email on the right-hand side of the blog, not Google reader, to be eligible. (If you are already a subscriber, just advise me of this.)
2. Sign up for my Quilt Chatter newsletter by clicking on the top right-hand side of this blog and advise me by commenting on this post. (If you are already a subscriber, just advise me of this).
3. Let me know your favourite holiday recipe in the comments area.
4. Tell me if you are making any gifts this holiday season, and if so, what they are, in the comments area.
You'll receive one entry for every one of the above things that you do - so that's a possible four entries.
You will need to do each of these separately - do not include all your information in one comment or that will only count as one entry. Be sure to comment on this post only so that you will be eligible for the draw.
This contest is open to residents of Canada and the continental United States only; sorry no international entries.
This week I am offering "Country Comforts - Quilts for Casual Living" by Cheryl Wall. I reviewed this book in a recent blog post and it has the perfect homey, comfy quilts to decorate your own home for the holiday season (since I'm sure you've already finished making all the gifts you need). Prairie Stars or Autumn Equinox would both be lovely in seasonal fabrics to create that warm, loving atmosphere that we celebrate at this time of year.
Please feel free to tell your friends about this opportunity so they'll have a chance to win this final book as well. Don't forget to check back next Saturday to see if you've won this wonderful book.
I am still working on gifts. The main one I want to finish is a baby rag quilt for my daughter who is expecting in April.
ReplyDeleteI love the cover quilt on the book. Thanks for the chance to win it.
ReplyDeleteI meant to say, in the comment above that I am a follower and I love making Swedish Butterballs. It's a recipe I got from a friend years ago and we make it every Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to the newsletter as well
ReplyDeleteWe look forward to our sticky buns every Christmas morning. I use to do the big dinner for lunch that day, but found I was stuck in the kitchen preparing while the kids were playing with their new stuff and I was missing out. Now, we do an easy breakfast..egg cass, sticky buns, and a plate of Christmas treats all day long!
ReplyDeleteI have made quite a few things this year. 2 Christmas wall hangings done and the third ready for basting. A tree skirt that is giving my kittens right now...it would be so much cheaper just to buy one!, and sock monkies for the youngest grandbabies. Then I should be done done for this year...oh no, a tied fleece blanket too needs to get done this week! Busy busy!
ReplyDeleteI am a Follower of Chatterbox quilts.
ReplyDeleteI put my name in for the newsletter
ReplyDeleteI made a purse for a SIL, and I am making ornaments for mini-trees for friends, and a quilt.
ReplyDeleteWe love to make monkey bread over the holidays. It is very much like sticky buns but easier to make, using frozen bread dough.
ReplyDeleteI am making wall hangings for presents, hoped to make some quilts but not enough time.
ReplyDeleteHi! I am making a chocolate cream pie for Christmas because it's my dad's fave.
ReplyDeleteHi again! I have made a lap quilt called "Nine Patch in Border" for my cousin for x-mas. I hope she likes it.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Sylv

ReplyDeleteThe only thing I'm making for gifts this year is Triple Chocolate Biscotti!

ReplyDeleteGifts I'm making for Christmas: two Dresden plate candle mats... plates made, need to get them down!
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a baker and I don't prefer to cook so my Christmas go to recipe is Stove Stop from the box! lol Does that count?!?! :-)

ReplyDeleteI don't really have a favorite recipe. I do have fun with any cookies!. Special ones, simple ones, ones that take a lot of time to make, and ones that take no time to eat. I enjoy all the different kinds.
ReplyDeleteI am making Felties for the little ones in my life. Hand towels and hot pads for the ladies. And for my husbands family I am making a stitchery wall hanging. For my mother-in-law cross stitched ornaments of all the family members names. It seams like a lot but they are all fast to make.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday recipe is the pecan pie on the karo syrup bottle. mlwright29 (at) hotmail (dot) com

ReplyDeleteI am sewing most of my Christmas gifts - two quilts, a camera strap cover, a snap bag, a Birdie Sling bag, a hexagon ball, a softie toy - Magoo and I'll see what I can get finished this week.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first year in quite awhile that I am not giving away a larger quilt- unless I get busy real fast to complete a quilt that needs borders and such. I am making some place mats and they are coming along slowly but perhaps tonight.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win the nice book.
Regards,
Anna

My favorite Christmas recipes are for special squares that are topped with After 8 mints- very rich and yummy. I also always make nuts and bolts at this time of year.

ReplyDeleteI love the trifle that we have had for Christmas dinner since I was a child. It is a recipe from Merry Olde England and is full of booze, raspberry jam, almond macaroons and whipped cream.
ReplyDeleteI am finishing a quilt for my granddaughter. I want to make something small for each of my girls but sadly I don't think I'm going to get that accomplished. Oh well.

ReplyDeleteI have run drastically short of time to make anything of any size for anyone this year. I'm planning on spending a day this weekend working on some fusible web appliques on tea towels. They are quick and easy and make great last minutes or hostess gifts. I add a bottle of wine, jam or truffles.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite holiday recipe is Lifesafer brunch, also known as an egg strata. It's a great make the night before breakfast. I get up and pop it in the oven and it bakes while I get to enjoy my family opening their Santa gifts.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite recipes is for Caramel Popcorn. The recipe is on the outside label of my karo syrup. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteI am making a replacement Christmas stocking. Seems that felt made in circa 1968 DOES have a lifespan!
ReplyDeleteRecipe... brace yourself!
ReplyDeleteA whole jar of chopped pickled herring, four or five diced apples with red peels on, and a cup of unwhipped nutriwhip or other sweet cream. That is it. Sounds aweful but it is AWESOME
