You're probably wondering about the title. Well, it's an acronym for What I'm Working on Wednesday or WIWOW, which sounds kind of neat, doesn't it?
You haven't heard from me for a week because I've actually been working on the items I posted last week. And... drum roll, please... I actually finished one of the projects. Appliqués fused and stitched down, quilted, sleeve attached, label applied, binding sewn and embellishments added. I think it turned out rather well and I even finished it a day earlier than my deadline.

I figure that I might actually have this finished by next Christmas if I keep working on it!
So this week I'm going to finish up the little doll and try to get this topped pieced together.

Thanks, Cath! I'm quite pleased with how it turned out (except for the quilting part). May have to make another smaller version - with better quilting :)

Thanks, ladies! The doll is finished and I'll be posting photos of it soon. Almost finished the chisel quilt top (see above) - just need to add the borders and it'll be ready for quilting.
AbsolUTEly adorable! And what perfect stitching! I'm relatively new to quilting, so far I can do applique & stitch in the ditch pretty well, but today I tried free motion. HAHAHA - cracked myself up! Ripped it out and am trying a combination of free motion & zig-zag that I'm sure will be coming out soon. Not sure what I'm gonna do - had grand plans of echo-quilting around a cheater quilt motif...think I'll quit (yeah, QUIT, not quiLt) for a while & go make dinner instead. After that, I'll probably spend some more time with my friend Jack the Ripper while we watch TV tonight. I have new found admiration (on TOP of my already-found admiration) for all the men & women that have master the fine art of free-motion!
Thanks for the compliments, Karin! I was pleased with the zig zag stitching that I used to finish the appliques - practice certainly helps as does going slowly and taking frequent breaks. As for the free motion stitching... well, it could use some work. Again, it's lots of practice and taking your time. I use a long arm machine with a stitch regulator so it does half the work for me. Still have to get the top and bottom tension right, right size needle, etc. to have good results. Keep at it, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it soon:)
I love your kitty & doggy quilt. It came together perfectly. Those yo-yos really look cute too. Not familiar with the chisel chase book. Definitely want to check it out.

Thanks, Darlene. Chisel Chase has lots of great ideas for using the chisel die and I was pleased to see how well everything lined up when I stitched this top together. It's now finished and I'm just getting the backing ready for it and several other quilts. I hope to have it quilted later this week.
